Do you know the color of your own light?Listening to: I'd never seen this video (and it's funny!), though the song comes from one of my favorite CD's.
Bliss: And now the 12 days of Christmas start and I am going to spend some time with this idea. A blog friend pointed me in this direction.

Light gives of itself freely,
filling all available space. It does not
seek anything in return; it asks not
whether you are friend or foe.
It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished.
-Michael Strassfeld

We are each gifted in a unique and
important way. It is our privilege
and our adventure to discover
our own special light.
-Mary Dunbar

People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun
is out, but when the darkness sets in
their true beauty is revealed
only if there is light from within.
-Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Turn your face to the sun and
the shadows fall behind you.
-Maori Proverb

A sensible man will remember
that the eyes may be confused in two ways-
by a change from light to darkness
or from darkness to light; and
he will recognize that the same thing
happens to the soul.
-Plato

Someday perhaps the inner light
will shine forth from us,
and then we'll need no other light.
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Love is not consolation. It is light.
-Friedrich Nietzsche

Into my heart's night
Along a narrow way
I groped; and lo! the light,
An infinite land of day.
~Rubaiyat of Rumi

Faith is the bird that feels the light
and sings when the dawn is still dark.
-Rabindranath Tagore

Truly, it is in darkness that one finds
the light, so when we are in sorrow,
then this light is nearest of all to us.
-Meister Eckhart

There is a light that shines beyond
all things on earth, beyond the highest,
the very highest heavens.
This is the light that shines in your heart.
-Chandogya Upanishad

What richness of light, and I was completely captivated by the image from the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross quote about stained glass windows. That's going to stay with me for a long time.
Tess and I are on exactly the same wave length. I am going to pass it along to my husband, who struggles with such seasonal affective disorder. We are really trying to work through this way that the outer darkness seems to call up his inner shadows.
Thanks & blessings,
Marisa
