The Formula for Experiencing Life Fully Lived

Jamie Ridler asks us for today's Wishcasting Wednesday:

What do you wish to Experience?

At first this question seemed extra hard to me, because I am experiencing so much that is wonderful right now thanks to this Awakened Dancer journey that I am on.

But it is that very journey, I realize, that opens me to more experiences outside of Dance.

Awakening your essential nature allows you to expand that nature. Awakening your core gives you the strength you need to grow ever bigger.

Here's the formula:

Overcome Fear + Take Risk =
Experience the Excitement of Life Fully Lived

I overcame a multitude of fears (MULTITUDE) to take the risk of going away for a teacher training, and as a result, my life has gotten Shiny beyond my wildest dreams.

What other fears could I approach like this and what dreams might come true because of my Courage?

Here are just a few of the things I wish to Experience:

1. Overcoming my Fear of Flying.

If I were to risk flying, oh, the places I would go!

I could go back to Paris. Just writing that sentence made my heart leap.

I could visit a warm beach in the middle of winter. I could snorkel! I have only ever snorkeled once in my life and I would put it in my Top Ten Favorite Things to Do. But because of my fear of flying...how sad is that?

This list could get out of control, so I'll just stop there.

2. Overcoming my Fear of my Own Power.

This is huge.

If I could risk tasting the depths of my own power, I could have any life that I could dream up.

As Marianne Williamson says in a very famous quote, isn't that what we really fear? That we are bigger and more powerful than we ever could imagine?

3. Overcoming my Fear of the Spotlight.

If I could step into the spotlight, I could be who I truly am.

There are many reasons I have shied away from taking center stage -- metaphorically and literally.

But for me, the big reason is that I have bought into the idea that this is "Showing Off."

But what is "Showing Off" about using the skills you were born with?!

What fears could you overcome so that you could meet risks head on and experience excitement?

yes Yes YES!
I am so proud of you Christine; you are my hero!
I am hoping to discover what it is in me, what I love enough to give myself completely to, that can take my physical pain away, as you have.

As Christine wishes for herself, so do I also wish for her with all my heart and soul!

Oh these fears are all doable! If you just expose yourself little by little you can overcome them all!

Love this post!

"I am convinced that the deepest desire within each of us is to be liberated from the controlling influences of our own psychic madness or patterns of fear. All other things--the disdain of ordinary life, the need to control others rather than be controlled, the craving for material goods as a means of security and protection against the winds of chaos--are external props that serve as substitutes for the real battle, which is the one waged within the individual soul."
-Caroline Myss

Fear is such a big part of human lives, and I believe it is a huge piece that separates us from other animals. The greatest challenge is breaking through the fear. Something I know, I've been trying to push through for some time now. I believe fear of ourselves, our capabilities, and what we can truly accomplish hold us back and makes us create ladders of never ending (and sometimes hard to accomplish) tasks, b/c we are afraid of what we may succeed in.

A formula that works!

I think one of my deepest fears that I would most wish to overcome is relating to money. I would like to be able to take the risk to spend without fear, to remember that money is energy and book that flight back to Aus for a trip!

It sounds kind of superficial but I do feel my financial blocks are blocking my power in general.

As Christine wishes for herself, so do I also wish for her with all my heart and soul!

As Christine wishes for her self to experience, so I wish for her as well.

I'm amazed you fear flying but relish snorkeling. :) Made me think, I'm afraid of drowning enough to pass on snorkeling given the opportunity. Hmmmmmmmm...

Your universe is ever expanding - you GO GIRL!

I SO relate to this list of wishes. You deserve to experience the excitement of living life fully.

And you deserve to go back to Paris. Beautiful, magical Paris.

I too suffer from fear of the spotlight. I often wonder how my life would and could be different if I had realized it earlier or was able to totally do away with it now. For me, it has to do with seeming like I am bragging but also with having too much attention placed on me. It's a scary, scary thing.

I've overcome so many fears in the past few years I should really write a list. It might help others see that it's NOT okay to live trapped by these and that life can change drastically if you just try. But... you first have to be aware of your fears and shortcomings. Thanks for the reminder!

Must admit, that Marianne Williamson quote is taped in front of me - to my desk... yes. Totally. Ahhh for all the rest of the juiciness that BlissChick wishes to experience for hereself, so too do I wish like mad for the BlissChick.♥

Thanks for this post. I needed this reminder that a life truly lived involves risk.

I was agoraphobic (as in difficulty leaving the house) for a year of my life 10 years ago. Then had fears of leaving my street, my town for a long time. Getting on a plane and flying was totally unthinkable.

I love flying now. I don't know how I got over it. It just happened with all the other work I was doing on myself. I think the fear of flying for me was about a difficulty with trust. As my trust increased the fear lessened. And fear of making a fool of myself. What's the worse that could happen? I would be on a plane having a panic attack. Everything else is out of my hands.

Dance, dance, dance every minute before your plane journey. Dance before you get on the plane. Dance on the plane. (Can you devise discreet dance moves you can do in your seat?!?) I just had a mental image of you on a plane and on a warm beach.

As you wish for yourself so I also wish for you x

I'm already following your formula. Last week I quit my job to pursue what I feel is right in my heart. I'm scared how I'm going to pay the bills but have faith that this was SO the right decision! We only regret what we don't try after all... EEk!

I love the formula...it makes absolute bliss-full sense.

How to overcome the fear & the what if's...that's a gigantic challenge, one I know well too.

When you wrote "fear of flying," I thought of the movie "French Kiss" with Meg Ryan...her trying to get over her fear of flying...and then pure anger got her on a plane, lol! Maybe try getting mad about missing Paris? :-D
